Rodney Johnson
Rodney has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. He began his career as an appraisal trainee in the Los Angeles office of Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, Inc., then one of the top managers and advisors for commercial real estate assets held by pension funds in the U.S. During his 13 year career with Equitable, he served in a variety of technical and executive positions including underwriter, portfolio manager, client relations manager, and new business development officer. His responsibilites included serving key California clients, including calPERS, calSTRS and LACERA. Rodney served as Project Manager/Development Director for the Delta Organization in Philadelphia where he managed the $100 million redevlopment of Colonie Center Mall (Albany, NY). He served as Senior VP and Sr. Development Director for the Intefral Group in Atlanta where he managed the $50 million mixed-use development of Renaissance Walk – located in the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic District. Rodney has also helped raise $80 million of investment capital for private equity urban real estate investment funds (Urban America and the Integral Urban Fund). Mr. Johnson was also a senior executive in business development with KDG Construction Consulting, founded and led by Lydia Kennard, the first African American woman to head the Los Angeles International Airport. Mr. Johnson currently leads a team responsible for managing the 1,700 western U.S. bank branch portfolio of JPMorgan Chase.
